IBI-Rating survey
The rating agency IBI-Rating has conducted research to evaluate disclosure of information by banks and their transparent reporting upon results for 2013 and 1st quarter of 2014, with purpose of evaluating transparency of the banking system, duly reflection of changes and factors that had an impact on the system. The agency assessed the information available on the websites of banks, open to general public on the informational portals as well as the information received from reliable, in the experts’ opinion, sources. The research assessed 162 banks out of 181 listed in the NBU’s registry. The banks founded in 2013 and those with interim management working at the moment the research study was conducted were not included.
Given the economic and political situation in the country, the fact that transparency has been retained at the same level as compared to similar periods a year ago (69,1%) can be regarded to be positive. The analysis of preceding periods and findings show there have been seasonal fluctuations specific for each period of accounting.
